Crain Construction underway with 27th Publix project

active construction site for new Publix at Windsong

GALLATIN, Tenn. — Crain Construction is the general contractor for a new 48,387-square-foot Publix grocery store in the Windsong retail development at the northeast corner of State Route 109 and South Water Avenue in Gallatin.

Publix will be the lead anchor tenant of the center, which will offer shopping, dining options and services to meet the needs of Gallatin and Sumner County residents.

“We’re honored to have a repeat client like Publix and help expand its footprint in Middle Tennessee,” said Scott Webb, Crain Construction project manager. “We just finished building a new Publix in East Nashville and we are currently setting footings for the Windsong store.”

The exterior of the two-story Publix supermarket in Gallatin will be brick with a significant amount of EFIS. Administrative offices will be housed on the building’s second floor, according to Webb. A November 2021 completion is anticipated.

Crain Construction will also build the shells for three separate commercial spaces at Windsong, totaling about 20,000 square feet.

MAB American Management LLC is developing the commercial portion of Windsong.

Crain Construction has served as general contractor for more than 26 previous Publix projects, ranging from retrofits to renovations to new builds. The most recent is the 31,028-square-foot Publix anchoring the new Hill Center Greenwood, a multi-use development on Gallatin Road in East Nashville.
