Mixed-Use Structure Built to Accommodate the River Flow

Working with longtime client, Chartwell Hospitality, we built the mixed-use 1st and Main structure to house restaurant, retail and Class A office space, and accommodate its floodway zoning.

Sited on two acres adjacent to the Harpeth River, 1st and Main was built on a micropile- foundation system which allows water to flow as needed across the property. The 131-space surface parking lot consists of permeable pavers.

Project highlights:

  • 1st and Main marks the northern gateway to historic, downtown Franklin, Tenn.
  • The first section of Franklin’s river path starts at our 1st and Main project and provides future connection to trails identified in the city’s greenways master plan.
  • An outdoor deck overlooking the Harpeth River provides exterior dining opportunities.
  • The building was designed to reflect the architecture of its historic neighborhood with luxury finishes and modern-day amenities.
