NEW SOUTHEAST VENTURE HEADQUARTERS UNDERSCORES CRAIN’S RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

NASHVILLE, Tenn.Crain Construction Inc. is building a new 15,000-square-foot, one-story headquarters for Southeast Venture commercial real estate company at 4030 Armory Oaks Drive. The project is the latest the two companies have teamed on during their 30-plus-year relationship.

“We have a long-standing relationship with the designers, developers and architects at Southeast Venture as both clients and partners,” said Jeff Kurzhal, Crain Construction project manager. “This project really demonstrates that our mission isn’t just a statement. It’s what we do. We build relationships and structures to last a lifetime.”

Southeast Venture designed its new headquarters and is developing it in partnership with H.G. Hill Realty, another repeat customer of Crain Construction.

Crain Construction first teamed with Southeast Venture to build Harding Place Shopping Center in the mid-1970s. The general contractor also built out the company’s current office space in the Dekor Building, developed by H.G. Hill Realty and located just a stone’s throw from the new one-acre Southeast Venture office site.

According to Nathan Narwold, Southeast Venture’s design director, the exterior of the new headquarters features a simple and clean material palette of contrasting brick tones, punched storefront windows, architectural steel and aluminum composite panels.

The building’s interior will provide an open, light-filled work environment with exposed ceilings and a layout that provides multiple options for individual work and meeting spaces.

Aluminum folding glass walls on the building’s south side will open onto the “Gather Space,” a multi-functional outdoor amenity area to include a putting green, bocce ball court, cornhole, grilling area and integrated bench seating.

“We are creating an exciting and energized space that complements the highly engaged and collaborative culture of our company,” said Ginny Caldwell, Southeast Venture director of interior design. “Everyone is looking forward to this new home.”

“Coming from a design background, I understand this building is where visionaries will come every day to create,” said Kurzhal, who combines his architecture degree and experience with construction knowledge to successfully deliver a finished project for clients. “As passionate as Southeast Venture is about its clientele, Crain is a passionate team member looking out for them.”

The new office site is adjacent to H.G. Hill Realty offices and construction will impact some shared sewer and water services for current tenants. Kurzhal said the crew will work closely with the neighboring businesses during construction to coordinate and minimize any inconveniences.

A Fall 2019 completion is anticipated for the project.
