10 Jun CRAIN, CHARTWELL BUILDING HILTON IN GEORGIA BASED ON TENNESSEE PROTOTYPE
ALPHARETTA, GA– Crain Construction Inc. and Chartwell Hospitality LLC are teaming again to build a new 249-room Hilton Hotel in Georgia’s Fulton County, similar to the full-service Hilton they finished last summer in Franklin, Tenn.
“The Hilton Franklin was a prototype,” said James Williams, Crain Construction project manager. “Some modifications have been made for the Georgia hotel, but the thought process was to keep the same team together. It’s the same owner, architect, interior designer and general contractor.”
That team includes Chartwell Hospitality as the hotel developer; Rabun Architects; The W Group is handling interior design; and Crain Construction is the general contractor.
“We’ve taken 50 percent of our subcontractors from the Franklin project with us,” said Williams. “We’re also using Georgia workers and have had face-to-face and scope meetings with subs from the Atlanta market.”
The general contractor expects to have about 200 workers on the project, with an average of 100 on the jobsite at any time. A Fall 2020 completion is anticipated.
The eight-story, 178,000-square-foot Hilton Alpharetta will include a similar lobby, ballroom and amenities as the Hilton Franklin, but will be slightly larger with approximately 10,100 square feet of meeting space, a larger outdoor dining and patio space, and some upgraded finishes.
The Hilton Alpharetta is under construction at 5775 Windward Parkway in Alpharetta, near Georgia State Route 400.
