Crain to build Ferrari dealership for Middle Tennessee

Sign Announcing Ferrari Dealership to be built by Crain Construction

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The list of high-profile company relocations and expansions in Nashville is growing, but auto enthusiasts and economic development officials alike are cheering the announcement of a Ferrari dealership coming to Music City.

Securing a Ferrari dealership indicates Nashville is rising in the ranks of other major cities around the world that can support an exclusive luxury sports car dealer. Ferrari has a presence in only 60 markets worldwide.

One of the best-known luxury brands, Ferrari is long associated with the Grand Prix, Italian luxury, performance, and design dating back to the 1940s.

When JJA Properties TN LLC, operating under the Dream Motors Group umbrella, decided to build a Ferrari dealership in middle Tennessee, it selected a general contractor with a reputation of construction excellence since 1933 — Crain Construction.

“We’re honored the owner is trusting us to construct a building that aligns with the Ferrari brand’s high standards and showcases the product with an equally elegant structure,” said Michael Rankin, Crain Construction president and CEO. “Personally, it’s a real thrill to see the iconic Prancing Horse and our Crain birds together on a sign marking the future home of Ferrari.”

Crain Construction has begun sitework at 2300 Knights of Columbus Blvd., where the dealership will sit on a portion of 14.33 acres between Interstate 40 and the Nashville International Airport.

Designed by Atlanta-based Praxis 3 LLC, the 43,339-square-foot official dealership features a two-story showroom with a mostly glass front façade. Since the grade of the site restricts sightlines, a vehicle lift will move the luxury cars onto the second floor so they will be visible from I-40. The Ferrari-certified service shop, parts and storage area will occupy approximately 20,500 square feet.

Crain Construction has built and renovated numerous auto dealerships, but this is the general contractor’s first time to partner on a project with JJA Properties TN LLC and Praxis 3 LLC.
