Crain Construction has been named Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Greater Tennessee’s 2025 General Contractor of the Year, an honor that recognizes leadership, craftsmanship, and a sustained commitment to excellence across the commercial construction industry.
The award was presented during ABC Greater Tennessee’s Excellence in Construction® (EIC) & STEP Awards, held at the Grand Hyatt in Downtown Nashville. The annual event recognizes contractors who set the standard for quality construction, safety, and integrity throughout Middle and East Tennessee.
“This recognition is truly humbling,” said Michael Rankin, CEO of Crain Construction. “It reflects the hard work, resilience, and teamwork of our entire firm. Over the past year, our team faced complex challenges across a wide range of projects, and they met those challenges with professionalism and care for our clients, tradepartners, and team members.”
In addition to being named General Contractor of the Year, Crain received Excellence in Construction Awards for two notable Nashville projects: the Marriott Tri-Brand Hotel and The Crestmoor at Green Hills, both of which highlight Crain’s experience delivering complex, high-quality commercial construction in active, high-stakes environments.
Crain’s commitment to the industry and community was further recognized with Senior Contract Administrator Chloe Rawls being named ABC Volunteer of the Year, honoring her leadership and service within the organization. The company also earned the Platinum STEP Award, reflecting its continued focus on jobsite safety and workforce development.
With over 90 years of experience as a Nashville-based commercial general contractor, Crain Construction remains dedicated to building lasting relationships and delivering projects that strengthen the communities it serves. The recognition our team received this year serves as a meaningful milestone and a reminder of what’s possible when collaboration and care for the craft guide the work.
